Privacy Policy
This page is maintained by the operator of The Reflection Method to explain what the app collects, how analytics works, how cookies behave, and the choices available to you.
Last updated: 2026
Summary
The Reflection Method is designed to respect your privacy. The assessment and reflection tools do not require an account, and your quiz answers are processed entirely in your browser. We do not sell personal information or use advertising trackers. Analytics is opt-in: no usage events are recorded — not on this device and not to any analytics tool — until you explicitly turn it on.
Assessment privacy
The relationship pattern assessment is private by design. Below is exactly what it collects, how it is stored, and who can access it.
You can review the consent version stored on your device, withdraw it, or accept it again on the consent settings page.
What the assessment collects
- Quiz answers. Each response you tap or select is used only to calculate your result in the browser. The app does not ask for your name, email, or any identifying information to run the assessment.
- Computed result. Your score and the resulting pattern reading are generated locally from your answers. No result is sent to our servers.
- Optional device preferences. Settings such as your chosen crisis region, audio preferences, or coping-plan customizations may be saved in your browser so the page remembers them between visits.
How the data is stored
- Browser-only processing. Quiz answers and your result are processed in your browser's memory. They are not uploaded to The Reflection Method's servers.
- Local storage. Progress resumption, preferences, and the local event log are stored in your browser's localStorage and sessionStorage. This means they remain on the device you are using and are tied to this browser.
- No cloud copy by default. Unless you separately choose to sync a specific tool (for example, the optional love-bombing history sync), nothing from the assessment is stored in the cloud.
Who can access it
- You, on your device. Because answers and results never leave your browser, only you — and anyone with access to your device or browser — can see them.
- Not The Reflection Method. We do not receive, view, or process your quiz answers or results. There is no server-side database of assessment responses.
- Not third parties. We do not share assessment data with advertisers, analytics vendors, or other partners.
Your choices
- You can delete stored assessment data on this device right here, using the control below, and see confirmation that it was removed.
- You can clear all stored preferences and the local event log at any time by clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings.
- You can use a private or incognito browsing window so nothing is retained after you close the tab.
- You can stop the assessment at any time; your answers are not saved once you leave or refresh the page.
Delete your assessment data
Your answers and readings are stored only in this browser. You can remove them at any time — deletion happens on this device and cannot be undone.
No assessment data is stored on this device.
Your checklist and retake history
These records live in this browser only. View what's stored, remove individual entries, or delete everything. Bulk deletions ask for confirmation and can be undone for 10 seconds.
Retake history (0 readings)
No readings are stored.
Follow-up checklist (0 ticked, 0 tracked retakes)
Nothing is stored yet.
Activity log (0 events)
No activity recorded yet. Retakes and deletions on this device will show up here.
Analytics
The Reflection Method records a minimal set of usage events — such as starting or completing the assessment, opening a guide, or clicking a safety resource — to understand which pages and tools are useful. Analytics is off by default. Nothing is recorded, not even an on-device log, unless you turn it on.
How analytics works
- Opt-in. When analytics is off, the app does not write any usage event to storage, does not call any analytics vendor, and does not transmit any usage data. Turning it on enables a device-only event log that powers the on-device analytics dashboard.
- No personal data. Analytics events record only the event name and a few coarse properties (such as which guide or button was involved). They never include your quiz answers, results, name, email, or location.
- On-device by default. The event log lives in your browser's local storage. It is not sent to our servers unless the site is configured to forward events to a vendor — in which case only the minimal, non-identifying event payload is forwarded, and only after you have opted in.
- No advertising trackers. We do not use advertising networks, ad pixels, or cross-site tracking. Analytics, when on, is for aggregate product improvement only.
You can turn analytics on or off right now using the toggle below. The toggle stays in sync with the cookie banner and the consent settings page.
Analytics tracking
When this is off, no usage events are recorded at all — not on this device and not to any analytics tool. Turning it on helps us see which pages and tools people actually use.

Cookies and session data
The Reflection Method uses very little browser storage. Here is exactly what is set and why.
Strictly necessary
- Session cookie. A single encrypted, HTTP-only session cookie is set only if you use the optional editing gate. It stores only whether the gate is unlocked and contains no personal information. It expires automatically when your session ends.
- Consent record (localStorage). Your cookie and analytics choices are saved in local storage under the key
cookie-consent-v1so the site remembers them between visits. This is a local browser record, not a server-side profile. - Assessment consent (localStorage). Your acceptance of the assessment consent notice is saved locally so you are not asked to re-accept it each visit until the notice changes.
Optional, opt-in
- Analytics event log (localStorage). When you opt in to analytics, a minimal event log is written to local storage. If you opt out, this log is wiped from your device immediately.
- Marketing. The consent banner offers a marketing category. No marketing scripts run on this site today; the option exists only so future improvements can be enabled with your permission.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies under any setting.
Withdrawing consent at any time
You can change your mind at any point. Consent is never permanent, and withdrawing it takes effect immediately on this device.
- Analytics. Turn analytics off using the toggle in the Analytics section above or on the consent settings page. Opting out wipes the local event log right away.
- Assessment consent. You can withdraw or re-accept the assessment consent notice at any time from the consent settings page. You will be asked to review the current notice before your next assessment.
- Cookie banner. To bring back the cookie preferences banner, clear the
cookie-consent-v1entry in your browser settings for this site, or re-open the banner from consent settings. - All local data. You can remove every preference, consent record, and local log at once by clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings, or by using a private/incognito window so nothing is retained after you close the tab.
How we use information
Any information handled by the app is used only to operate the features you interact with directly:
- Computing your reflection reading from your quiz answers.
- Remembering your preferred crisis-region, audio, or coping-plan settings.
- Keeping the optional editing gate unlocked during your session.
- When you opt in, recording aggregate usage events so we can see which pages and tools are helpful.
What we do not do
- We do not require you to create an account or provide an email to use the tools.
- We do not store quiz answers or readings on our servers.
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties.
- We do not use advertising trackers or cross-site tracking cookies.
- We do not record any analytics event until you have explicitly opted in on this device.
Data retention and your choices
Quiz answers exist only while you are using the assessment and disappear as soon as you close or refresh the page. Saved preferences remain in your browser's local storage until you clear them. The analytics event log persists only while analytics is opted in and is deleted the moment you opt out.
You can remove stored preferences at any time by clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings. You can also use the site in a private or incognito browsing window if you prefer that nothing be stored locally.
Sensitive content
This site invites reflection on relationships and emotional health. Please use it in a private setting and be aware that anyone with access to your device may be able to see what is on your screen. If you are in distress or concerned about your safety, please reach out to a qualified professional or use the crisis support page.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the app changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes to how analytics or cookies work will never apply retroactively without a fresh consent prompt.
