Secure attachment
Comfort with both closeness and independence, and the ability to repair after conflict.
Secure patterns look unremarkable from the outside: needs get named directly, distance isn't read as abandonment, and disagreements end with the relationship intact.
What it looks like
- 'I need an hour, then I want to finish this' — and both halves actually happen.
- A missed call is a missed call, not a referendum.
- After an argument, the next morning is ordinary.
What it isn't
- Never arguing. Secure isn't conflict-free, it's repair-reliable.
- Emotional flatness or indifference.
One thing to do with this
Notice which of your relationships already run this way and what specifically makes them feel that steady.
